Est. 2007 · Port Stephens
Australia’s most passionate outdoor laser tag crew. We’ve been at this since 2007 and we’re just getting started.
Our Story
We started Battlezone Laser Tag in 2007 with a simple conviction: the best experiences happen outside. Not in a dark warehouse with carpet walls, but in real terrain, under real sky, with real adrenaline.
Craig (“Canuck”) built the original arena at Salt Ash from scratch. We mapped the landscape, designed the obstacles, calibrated the equipment, and ran our first session. The feedback was immediate. People didn’t just enjoy it; they came back. And brought their mates. And their kids. And their workmates.
Over the years we expanded our mission library, upgraded our equipment, and built a reputation as the premier outdoor laser tag experience in New South Wales. We’ve had the privilege of hosting over 60,000 players, from Newcastle birthday parties to corporate groups from across the Hunter. We spent time operating from the historic Maitland Gaol precinct, which gave us extraordinary terrain and some unforgettable sessions. When that facility closed in March 2024, we knew exactly where we were heading.
On June 8, 2024, we reopened at our original home: 1445 Richardson Rd, Salt Ash. Back where it all began. The arena is bigger, the equipment is better, and the team is more fired up than ever. Over a hundred games, thousands of players, and nearly two decades of refinement have gone into what you’ll experience here.
This is outdoor laser tag done right. And we’re not done yet.

Meet the People Behind the Action
Every session runs on the expertise of our small, passionate team. WWC cleared, laser tag obsessed, and genuinely glad you’re here.

What We Stand For
All staff hold Working With Children clearances. Our infrared technology means zero pain and zero mess. A strict zero-alcohol policy is enforced during all sessions, and every player completes a liability waiver. We take safety as seriously as we take fun.
We operate on two acres of real Australian bushland: natural terrain, natural light, natural obstacles. No dark carpeted rooms, no artificial fog. The bush provides a tactical environment no indoor venue can replicate, and that’s a deliberate choice we’re proud of.
We run SATR (Small Arms Training Replicator) software across our fleet of 140+ pieces of infrared equipment. Real-time scoring, mission management, and equipment tracking mean every game runs precisely, and every player gets a fair and exhilarating experience.
From age 7 to 100, from first-timers to the battle-hardened, Battlezone is built for everyone. Birthday kids, corporate teams, youth groups, tourists, bucks parties. Our formats and mission library scale to any group. If you can walk, you can play. Probably better than you think.
