In the early months of 2007, Craig (our founder) hung up his tools after 25 years of making handcrafted furniture and started looking for a new adventure. He bought a van, and started searching the internet for "businesses you can run with a van".
This is what he came up with. We still don't really know how.
On July 1, 2007, Battlezone Playlive was officially unleashed on the world, with a humble armoury of 10 Scorpions and big plans for the future. Since that time, we've secured the iconic Maitland Gaol as our primary venue, have an armoury approaching 140 gaming guns, and have had the privilege of hosting over 60,000 players in our 12 years of operation.
We can't wait to see what's in store for us next!
Founder and co-owner of Battlezone Laser Tag, Craig has been running his own businesses since emigrating to Australia from Canada over 35 years ago (hence the callsign!).
Co-founder and owner, Joyce a.k.a. Bluey co-ordinates all of our bookings and ensures everyone is prepped and ready to go before arriving on-site!
Ryan a.k.a. Rex is responsible for creating much of our marketing materials, including photography and our website! He'll stop by the Gaol from time to time so he can keep his skills sharp!
Noxie puts in a ton of work both on-site and behind the scenes to ensure your experience is as compelling and engaging as possible! Noxie's responsible for some of our latest and greatest missions, and loves about what we do. Jared is also our ‘head warden’ for our newest adventure: Get Out Escape Rooms!
Michelle has the know how to handle any size group from school age kids to corporate team building. This budding graphic designer has worked with us for over two years now and is also one of our ‘prison guards’ for our newest adventure: Get Out Escape Rooms!
Daniel has a background in IT and has played at many Battlezone events over the years. When the opportunity came up to join our team he was at the front of the queue! Dan is also one of our ‘prison guards’ for our newest adventure: Get Out Escape Rooms!
Excitable, short and loud. I'm an artist with a horridly strong competitive nature when it comes to anything I can challenge someone with. I've played video games but it doesn't match the fun of playing it in real life!
Qualified chef, tram driver in Melbourne, rostering admin, RFS communications and firefighter. Usually found tinkering on cars or 3D printing, I've always got projects on the go! As a gamer I'm often backing up my husband in games as a sniper.
